From humble beginnings in the late 1800s, a collection of
independent voluntary groups joined to combat the number one
killer of the time, Tuberculosis. As the decades passed, The
Lung Association has grown. Thousands of volunteers canvass
to raise funds for medical research, provide community support
and public health education.
